Dave Hillery joined the HeimLantz team in 2005. In addition to his role as the Director of Tax, he is a member of the firm’s management team. Dave works with various clients, including professional service firms, commercial and multi-family real estate companies, and high net worth individuals. Over the years, he has dealt with many issues involving emerging businesses, personal and estate planning, pass-through entities, tax-exempt organizations, the use of trusts, and charitable gift planning. Dave takes pride in providing practical solutions for complex tax issues.
After graduating from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 1976 with honors, Dave earned his MBA in Business Government Relations in 1977. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Dave is active in many local and national organizations. He is the chair of the political action committee for the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA). Dave is a member of the tax association for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and he serves on the tax section, exempt organization, real property, and trust and estate law section committees for the American Bar Association (ABA). In addition, he is a member of the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, Indiana University Alumni Association, Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business Alumni Association and Indiana University’s McKinney School of Law Alumni Association.
In his free time, Dave loves collecting coins and learning about history. He lives in Annapolis.
