Get to know Scott
As a retirement gig, Scott would like to start a hydroponic-aquaponic organic vertical farming system business to grow vegetables and herbs to support the local business economy.
What’s on Scott’s bucket list? Scott would like to travel to all seven continents, learn another language, and start an organic farming business.
Scott has a Commercial Driver’s License and can drive semi-trucks/tractor trailers.
A persistent and helpful professional, Scott strives to always remain positive, do good, and treat others as he would want to be treated. He chose to pursue a career in accounting upon the recommendation of his mother and a family friend—a CPA and partner at a local firm—who observed how hard he worked for his family’s business. On a daily basis, Scott finds inspiration in his favorite quote, which comes from Mother Teresa: “Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway.” He holds honesty and communication to be the most important characteristics of all of his relationships, including those with clients and colleagues.
Scott first joined HeimLantz as an intern before taking on the fulltime role of a staff accountant in 2020. He currently serves as a staff accountant in the firm’s Tax Department. His primary responsibilities include preparing 1040 and Business returns and performing bookkeeping services for clients.
Raised in the South County region, Scott currently live in Annapolis. Growing up, he spent a lot of time on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. His favorite things about where he lives are the proximity to water, the historic downtown area, and the sunrises as they appear on the horizon over the bay. In his free time, Scott’s hobbies include tennis, running, cooking, yoga, sailing, traveling, and hiking.
