Tonya Pressley is a Senior Accountant with more than two decades of experience helping government contractors build durable, compliant accounting environments. She advises on day-to-day accounting, DCAA support, and the interpretation and application of FAR requirements, while guiding clients through federal, state, and local compliance across accounting, contracting, payroll, and related processes. Tonya is known for training new staff in government-contracting fundamentals, empowering clients with thorough, well-researched guidance, and working deep in the details without losing sight of the big picture. Prior to joining HeimLantz in 2025, Tonya served as Director of Accounting at Spalding for eight years and Assistant Director of Accounting at Murray, Wamsley & Schrader for eleven years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland University College and is an active member of the MACPA and its Government Contractors Committee. Colleagues describe Tonya as lively and full of life; she describes herself in one word: detailed. Her service philosophy is simple: “Get it done, while maintaining balance.” She values the impact of her work, helping companies become not only profitable but also positive contributors to society. Tonya resides in Lusby, Maryland, with her husband of more than 30 years. Away from work, she loves being near the water. She’s a beach-only camper and enjoys hiking, birdwatching, and puzzles.
