Carter’s favorite holiday is Christmas because of the music, decorations, and getting to spend time with family and friends. The most inspiring part of Carter’s job is helping his clients and team members clearly identify their goals and developing a plan of execution to achieve them. Carter’s favorite place in the world is the coast and fjords of Norway. One of Carter’s secrets skills is connecting the dots – seeing interconnections and relationships that others often miss. Carter lives his life by three main principles: do the right thing, work hard/play hard, and respond, don’t react.

BIO

Carter Heim brings more than 40 years of experience serving businesses, owners, and organizations. He focuses on executive team coaching, innovative planning for businesses and their owners, and litigation support. He specializes in integrating various disciplines to serve clients. He applies expertise he has gained across income taxation, estate taxation, business valuations, leadership, organizational development and coaching as well as business and financial planning. In addition to ongoing business and tax planning, Carter crafts plans and solutions to address a wide range of needs including succession planning, estate tax planning, business growth, and the sale or purchase of businesses. Carter started in public accounting with Faw, Casson & Company in 1975. Less than 10 years later, he co-founded Hammond & Heim, Chartered, in 1984. In July of 1995, he launched Heim & Associates, the predecessor of HeimLantz. In 2001, HeimLantz was created through the merger of Heim & Associates and Lantz & Associates. Carter Heim is a certified Gravitas Impact executive coach. The certification program is based on the growth concepts in the best-selling business books “Mastering the Rockefeller Habits” and “Scaling Up” by Verne Harnish, as well as the signature Gravitas One-Page Business Growth Roadmap. It includes requirements such as the study and mastery of the Four Decisions® and 7 Attributes of Agile Growth™ content, application of best practices, and ongoing education by the world’s top thought leaders such as Jim Collins and Patrick Lencioni. Gravitas Impact Premium Coaches work with business leaders around the world, helping them successfully grow their companies focusing on the seven critical areas of Leadership, Talent, Strategy, Execution, Profit, Customer and Systems. Carter speaks on leadership, business and tax matters to various local and national business and non-profit groups. Carter and his family reside in the Annapolis area.
