Carter Heim Admitted to the Anne Arundel Hall of Fame


Carter Heim, CPA.CFF.CGMA, MST will be inducted to the Business Hall of Fame by the Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce on October 14, 2021.

Heim started his accounting career in 1975 and founded Heim & Associates, the predecessor of HeimLantz, in 1995. Since then, he has led the firm in serving a wide range of clients, including businesses, business owners, and organizations. Heim offers clients business and tax planning, succession planning, estate tax planning, business growth advising, and consulting regarding the sale or purchase of businesses. Additionally, he is a certified Gravitas Impact executive coach.

I look forward to continuing on in my work and helping to support this fantastic community and its businesses and organizations for years to come.”

Each year, the Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce adds new names to their Business Hall of Fame, recognizing and honoring members of the business community whose achievements have been instrumental to the area. Inductees represent the voice of local businesses, create jobs, and help the business community thrive. To be considered for the Business Hall of Fame a person must be a well-known, recognized, and respected business leader who has a career of distinctive achievements in leading his or her business. Important consideration is also given to those individuals who have made significant contributions to the community and exemplify the meaning for corporate citizenship. This year’s Hall of Fame Inductees are well-known, recognized, and respected community business leaders who have made distinctive achievements in leading an Anne Arundel County business.

A graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park, Heim earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1975. He went on to study at the University of Baltimore, graduating with a Master of Science in Taxation in 1984. An active leader in the accounting profession, Heim is a member and past president of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and served on the organization’s Board of Directors from 2008 – 2011. He now represents the AICPA on the Appointments Panel of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board and serves on the AICPA’s Awards Committee. Within his local business community, Heim was a member of the Board of Directors of BankAnnapolis and served as chairman of its Audit Committee and on its Executive Loan Committee. He was also the vice chairman of the board of directors for the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he is active in a wide range of organizations in the local community. Raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Heim currently lives in the Annapolis area with his family.
